Governor Greg Abbott announces his plans to fully reopen businesses and end a mask mandate. Every time of business will be able to open to 100% capacity. It seems like the public opinion is finally shifting in the right direction. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also agrees. The premise of the lockdowns was to prioritize public health over the economic well being of the country. What happens however when the data shows that strict lockdowns and a more open environment have virtually no difference in the death rate from covid? Greg Abbott made the right decision in my opinion in following the science and opening back up his state in order to protect the mental and financial well being of his statesman.
