State Representative Bryan Slaton filed a bill in the Texas House of Representative on March 4, 2021 that could be instrumental in protecting the southern border. The Bill proposed creating funds for “border security enhancement projects.”
The proposed funds from the project would allow construction of the wall to be finished in Texas by requiring the governor to request reimbursement of the funds from the federal government. Essentially the bill is proposing that the wall could still be built utilizing funds from the Biden Administration.
The bill would go hand and hand with Texas Gov. Abbott’s Operation Lone Star which launched this past week in which the national guard and border patrol agents were deployed to help keep the drug cartels from coming into Texas.
One of the first things Biden did when he took office was halt construction of the border wall which has created more opportunities for cartels to smuggle in their goods. The order to stop working on the wall has created an enormous security breach in Arizona by opening up a roadway for Cartels to come in and out of the United States.
According to Cochise County Arizona Sheriff Mark Dannels, about 3,000 illegal immigrants came into the United States in just a week in that sector of Arizona, and they were only able to apprehend about 35 percent of them.
If Bryan Slaton’s bill passes in Texas it opens up opportunities for other states to pass similar bills.
