Antifa rioters again trashed federal property in Portland and again they were allowed to get away with it without a forceful response. This sends a message that law and order does not exist in the city or state and that anarchist groups can do as they may while the Biden administration looks the other way.

FNC: “Downtown Portland, Oregon, erupted in violence yet again Thursday night, drawing tear gas and smoke bombs from federal officers who were deployed to quell the unrest, according to a report. Rioters set fires and smashed windows in the area of the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse until being driven away by federal officers, OregonLive.com reported. The courthouse is often defended by the Federal Protective Service but it wasn’t immediately clear if FPS personnel were the officers involved in Thursday’s action. Portland city police and Oregon state police have also been deployed during past riots in the city. The crowd later made a return to the area, managing to break some courthouse windows and set another fire, the report said.”

A group of left wing riotes invaded the lobby of an office building in the 1300 block of Southwest Fifth Avenue. “Officers arrived and found about 30 people refusing to leave, some smoking inside, some with pets,” police said in a news release. “The situation escalated when people began damaging property, including a television and the front doors to the building.”

“We are making a plan to add additional officers [Friday] in an effort to respond should significant events arise,” Portland police Sgt. Kevin Allen said. “Officers later located a suspect on the steps of the Federal Courthouse, 1000 SW 3rd Avenue, where they arrested him. He resisted the arrest, and an officer was punched in the face.”

“Downtown Portland at the federal courthouse, anti DHS/ICE and #StopLine3 protesters gather. A few of the remaining uncovered windows have been broken. An American flag burns in front of the door,” journalist Garrison Davis, who covered the riots on Thursday, said.

Journalist Suzanne Smith estimated that the unruly crowd tallied in excess of 100 at one point. “When I left, DHS officers were still guarding the courthouse portico. Protesters broke so many courthouse windows that it seems possible officers will need to guard the front of the building until it can be better secured.”
