As if stealing an election and dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic wasn’t enough for the Democrats. Now, their golden boy, Andrew Cuomo, is in the spotlight again for sexually harassing his former aides. At first, it started out with one victim coming forward and blaming the Governor for making advances on her. But over the weekend, two new women accused Cuomo of making sexual remarks and even inviting one of them to his hotel room. With a total of five women stepping forward, many are calling for Cuomo’s resignation, but that doesn’t mean he will cooperate.

Holding another press conference on Sunday, something President Biden has yet to do, Cuomo reiterated that he will NOT resign from Governor of New York. Instead, he said, “I was elected by the people of the state. … I’m not going to resign because of allegations. There is no way I resign.”

Instead of believing that people are calling for him to step down solely due to his sexual harassment, Cuomo went on the defense, calling the attacks “anti-democratic.” He insisted on staying in office until New York Attorney General Letitia James completed her investigation into the allegations against him, saying, “In the meantime, I’m not going to get distracted by this. What is determinative is what the attorney general finds.”

One of Cuomo’s former aides, Ana Liss said she worked for the governor between 2013 and 2015. During that time, Cuomo made it a point to ask her if she had a boyfriend, would touch her on the lower back, and even kiss her hand every time she would get up from her desk.

Being careful not to accuse the women of lying, Cuomo said, “Every woman has a right to come forward, that’s true, but the truth also matters. What she said is not true. She has been a longtime political adversary of mine, highly critical for many, many years, and has made many, many accusations.”

While the investigation is still ongoing, Cuomo has had his immediate powers stripped by lawmakers until the so-called truth comes out. But until then – Cuomo remains in a place of power where he can continue preying on young women.

After the press conference, Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y. went on Twitter to criticize the governor, saying, “The Worst Governor in America proves more [and] more each day why he has earned this title. This press briefing threatening elected officials is textbook Cuomo. He is a criminal sexual predator [and] a corrupt official who needs to be removed from office. Don’t let him get away with it.”
