LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer is ready to run for re-election.
In fact, Whitmer is heading into a reelection campaign with a healthy war chest. She boasts $3.5 million on hand, which is a record. In addition, she’s raised $5.5 million this cycle. The gap between is two totals is $2 million.
Whitmer has already attracted a Republican challenger in the 2022 race. Austin Chenge of Grand Rapids is an entrepreneur and Army veteran.
Chenge says Michigan has a pandemic, but it’s not the coronavirus. Instead, he claims the greatest threat to Michigan residents’ health and livelihood is “the dictator formerly known as Gov. Whitmer.”
