LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Robert Gordon submitted his resignation abruptly on Friday, and the timing is prompting follow up questions.
On Friday, Gordon announced his exit via Twitter. He said it was an honor to serve with his colleagues, but didn’t thank Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Whitmer acknowledged Gordon’s departure in the very last line of an announcement about the new director, Elizabeth Hertel. However, Whitmer didn’t thank Gordon, either.
Gordon said he is looking “forward to the next chapter,” but did not elaborate.
